About Me
I am both a teacher and a trainer.  Committed to finding ways to improve the relationships
between people and their pets is a passion and a science.  Embracing the knowledge of
operant and classical conditioning as well as the dynamics that affect a person and their
pet, I enjoy teaching new behaviors and helping change old ones.
Background
I initially began my professional career in social services working with children and their
families.  For many years I worked extensively with families in a clinical capacity, working
with them to find ways to live together in harmony and without stress.

Armed with years of clinical expertise, I began working with pets and their people full
time in 2004.
I had the wonderful opportunity to study dog behavior with some of the best trainers in the
world and I participated in every training seminar I could find.

I have managed training and behavior programs in shelters and doggy daycares, trained
animals ranging from primates to horses to domestic pets, mentored novice trainers,
presented at national conferences on animal behavior, competed in various dog sports
and maintained my company since 2005.  Check out some of my media appearances on

Credentials
I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Community Health
Education and am currently working on a second Masters in Companion Animal Behavior.

I am a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.  The CGC program is offered through the
AKC and is recognized nationally.  Dogs that have their CGC can help reduce the cost of
home owners insurance, go into schools or other venues as therapy pets and impress
friends and families with the wonderful accomplishment of being a Canine Good Citizen!

I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers

(CPDT-KA)
.  The APDT is the leading organization for setting standards for professional
dog trainers.  It is the only organization offering standardized testing for trainers interested
in being certified members.

I am a Certified Dog and Cat Behavior Consultant through the International Association for
Animal Behavior Consultants.  I am proud to be the only cat and dog certified behaviorist
within 100 miles of the Pioneer Valley!

I have extensive experience in the temperament evaluation of animals and how to train
others in learning the same skills.
